  1. @niaalll When you hit the cue ball on the left or right side, i guess. So “left English” => hit the cue ball on its left side

  2. after reading some comments i realise some people want to try this game out
if you wish to try it got to gameies download register an enjoy carom3d

  3. @b5b9 you’re actually in a hotbed of carom. in manhattan i know of at least one billiards hall with several carom tables on 32nd st. btwn 5th and 6th ave. in queens there are a few, with carom cafe in flushing being the most well known. some world-class players can be found there. in palisades park nj there at least 2 halls that i know of, and 1 in little ferry nj. there is also another in edison, nj.

  4. I’d really love to try this sometime.I cant imagine where to find a table though. Its hard enough to find a snooker table in your average pool halls anymore.

  5. This is a good set of exercises to get started with billiards. The real trick is to find a billiards table. They are not very popular in the USA. I live between New York City and Atlantic City, and I know of only one billirards table in that whole 100 mile stretch. The good news is that you can practice the shots in video on a pool table. It will improve you 9-Ball as well. (Think about a 2 or 3 rail kick shot.)

  6. Carom is great, and more popular than pool here in the Netherlands. I’m playing for a year now, and it really does make pool easier.

  7. and it’s completely unfair to use a contest between one pool player and one billiards player as a measure of every pool player against every billiard player. i hate when people try to compare disciplines based on flimsy evidence like this. pool and billiards are different. they require different skill sets. same with pool and snooker. just deal with it, everyone.

  8. ege20blue–that’s not a fair or comprehensive way to judge billiards against pool. reyes and blomdahl were playing a friendly game–there were no stakes or pressure. reyes–like most top players–plays best under pressure. you can bet that if this were the finals in the us open, the match would have been different, and so might the winner have. it’s also not comprehensive because they played one match. that’s not enough to judge who is better because anyone can have a bad day.

  9. Hey guys no really need to argue. If you really wanna get to know which game brings the need of more skill and information it’s even enough to watch the games between Efran REYES and T.BLOMDAHL. They play first pool and later on carom. BLOMDAHL’s not been playing pool professionally but he easyly can win against to REYES on pool and carom. Pool is too but too easy and simple comparing to carom. Pool is quite a boring game for carom players.

  10. i thought i was gonna get to help you with demonstrations of 3 cushion shots.

  11. Thanks for the information and drills. I just wish there was an easy way to find a carom table without having to go to a pool hall somewhere…

  12. the point is..
this is takes way more skill than regular pool
    and yes, there is scoring.
trying knowing what you’re talking about before you open your mouth.

  13. Carom is not boring, it’s very challenging and it does improve your pool game greatly. It’s why Efren Reyes is such a good kicker.

  14. you’re right, this is ‘basics’ of billiards.Mastering this game gives you a serious advantage over people who have no clue about que ball and object ball control.

  15. Please don’t input your opinion on a comment you haven’t fully read or understood. I’ve been playing 3 cushion billiards constantly for 2 years now and I was saying that pocket billiards becomes much too boring and simple after one plays carom billiards but apparently I wasn’t blatantly obvious about it.

  16. Please don’t input your opinion in a subject that you don’t know about. I’ve been playing pools for as long as i can remember, and i can assure you that after you know how to play this type of pool, 8-balls, 9-balls or snookers become extremely easy. This game helps you to learn the way the ball spins and it can be use to set up your next balls, so that your white ball can end up where you want it.

  17. This game doesn’t help your pool game since it makes pool extremely boring.

  18. question… do you use a the same que stick as you would in pocket billiards? but i’m mainly asking about the kind of tip you would use in carom billiards

  19. you should try carom, i used to play pool but is boring, 3 cushions is the best billiard game
